IRON-KIDS K2 ยท R63
Spring-biased captive cross-tier lock
R63 converts the loose R62 proof pin into a captive sliding module. A future compression spring can bias the pin toward engagement, while the inherited three proof brackets prevent full insertion until every radial stage is fully spread.
Off-body bench fixture only. The spring is a reference envelope and this release does not claim a fail-safe, safety-rated, or wearable interlock.

cross-tier lock states passed
insertion sweeps behaved as expected
fixed-hardware/bracket clearances passed
new modeled parts and gauges
What changed
- Captive 7 mm master-pin envelope with pull handle and mechanical position flag.
- Guide sleeve and spring housing keep the pin constrained outside the three proof brackets.
- A future spring may bias the pin toward engagement; any unsatisfied proof bracket stops full insertion.
- A service-retraction detent holds the pin withdrawn during supported bench work.
- A new print-fit coupon checks bore clearance before mechanism fabrication.
Verification boundary
Nominal geometry tests passed.
The tests cover CAD intersections, eight proof states, sampled insertion travel, fixed-hardware clearance and inherited radial-return blocking. They do not establish spring force, wear, pin strength, fatigue, contamination tolerance, detent reliability, safe failure behavior or human clearance.
Still left
- Print the fit gauge, sleeve, housing and one bracket; measure real clearances/friction.
- Select a real metal pin and compression spring from measured insertion force.
- Add redundant lock-state sensing and an independent release/energy-removal path.
- Run wear, contamination, vibration, spring-break and pin-bend fault tests off-body.
- Move the carrier outside the arm envelope and integrate all twelve leaves plus the red overlay.
- Use measured K2 body/padding geometry before any wearable-fit claim.
