IRON-KIDS K2 ยท R64
Redundant pin-state channels + remote-release study
R64 extends the R63 captive spring-biased cross-tier lock with two physically separated engaged-state channels, a third retracted-state diagnostic channel, explicit transit/fault-state logic, independent endpoint capture stops, and an outboard Bowden-style release-routing study.
Still an unpowered off-body bench fixture. Sensor bodies are reference envelopes and the inherited R61 rigid hangers still occupy the arm space.

Fault discrimination
Nominal CAD state map passed.
- Both endpoint states resolve to their expected channel combinations.
- A simulated 20 mm position error on sensor A creates an A/B disagreement instead of a false two-channel lock confirmation.
- No nominal sampled position produced an A/B disagreement.
- New fixed hardware clears all three proof brackets in their closed and spread endpoint states.
Outboard release direction
The R64 sensor pod and Bowden-style release anchor sit outside the measured bounding envelope of the 61-file inherited R61 bench scene. That moves sensing and the manual pull point outward, but does not solve the wearable carrier: the rigid R61 hangers still pass through the arm space.
Still left
- Select actual redundant sensors and measure real switching repeatability/hysteresis.
- Define fail-closed wiring diagnostics for open, short, stuck and disagreement states independent of the motion supervisor.
- Select and bench-test the metal pin, compression spring and positive retraction system from measured forces.
- Build the remote release with real cable/sheath and measure friction, backlash, bend radius and emergency pull force.
- Replace the R61 rigid hangers with a body-clear carrier, then integrate all twelve bicep leaves and the red overlay.
- Repeat continuous-motion, jam, service-removal and extraction testing using measured K2 body/padding geometry.
