Suit diagnostics
Battery state, fan status, sensor health, and temperature advisories. A physical status panel remains available when the display fails.
A future AR headset could turn suit status into a glanceable interface. The helmet must work without it: direct vision, ventilation, and manual opening come first.
Comfort fans running in the interface mockup. No live sensors are connected.
ADVISORY DISPLAYJustin does not own a HoloLens. A used HoloLens 2 is a future candidate, not a prerequisite or a purchase recommendation today.
Microsoft documents waveguide displays, eye-tracking cameras, head-tracking cameras, and a depth sensor. Their placement and unobstructed views constrain any helmet package.
Microsoft · HoloLens 2 hardwareThe first donor-device test should use an intact headset and a removable helmet fixture. Confirm eye position, image quality, direct visibility, sensor coverage, and heat before considering any housing change.
No cutting, grinding, shrinking, or separating the optical stack is proposed. Custom cable extensions, battery relocation, and remote processing are not established capabilities of this project.
P01 SHELL · OPTICAL CARRIER TBDBattery state, fan status, sensor health, and temperature advisories. A physical status panel remains available when the display fails.
Local checklists and references for maintenance, labeling, and inspection. Keep complex overlays out of walking and entry/exit tasks.
Hands-free audio and deliberately enabled video. Preserve hearing of the environment and provide a visible recording indicator.
Manual faceplate, ventilation, padding, and a tested line of sight without electronics.
Eye and sensor geometry evaluated before any permanent metal packaging.
Nonessential HUD data through a documented interface, with explicit stale-data and offline states.
Removable fixtures and service access for a different future headset or a simpler display.
