Access mechanism.
Captured guide, carriage, pivot leaf, end caps, reference pins and a dummy panel. Closed, withdrawn and open STEP assemblies.
Give overlapping panels a way out before rotating them. Explore the actual exported CAD for a two-stage bench hinge—and the hardware carriers being developed around it.
Six selected rigid-body pairs; 1 mm translation increments followed by 1° rotation increments. Not all-pairs, continuous collision detection, tolerance, strength or human-fit validation. Intentional attachment contacts excluded. This bench result does not clear the full suit’s P01 collisions.
Inspect every sample ↗The carriage withdraws from the overlapping edge. A separate pivot then swings the panel away. The panel stays attached to the bench mechanism instead of becoming a loose piece to juggle while dressing.
Nominal travel is 35 mm followed by 100° of rotation. A reference index pin illustrates closed/withdrawn positions. It is omitted during motion; its captive retention and an enforced slide-before-swing interlock are not designed.
Full-suit mounting, neighboring shells, closure alignment, redundant retention, pinch guards, reachable draw latches and a mechanically independent exit all remain open work.
End caps and shafts are layout geometry, not specified commercial hardware or rated stops. No gas spring or wearer load should be attached to these printed coupons.
Read the whole-suit access plan ↗STEP solids, STL meshes, print-oriented copies, parameters, editable CadQuery source and the actual digital checks are included.
Captured guide, carriage, pivot leaf, end caps, reference pins and a dummy panel. Closed, withdrawn and open STEP assemblies.
Slotted brow rail, removable sensor sled and spacer. Generic equipment accommodation—not calibrated HoloLens mounting.
Removable tray, vented cover, keyed connector opening and an open cable-loop bridge. No assumed connector ratings.
Unloaded tabletop fit studies only. 100% CAD size; do not add the original costume’s 110% scaling again.
